Read-a-thon Kickoff

Do you want to encourage your favorite reader while raising money for the Clarkdale Elementary PTA? Join in on our Read-A-Thon!

There are two ways to make a pledge:

1. You can sponsor a child for a flat amount. For example, if you pledge $20, you will pay $20, no matter how many minutes the student reads.

OR

2. Pledge a certain amount per minute read. For example, if you pledge 5 cents per minute, and the student reads 500 minutes, you would owe $25 (.05x500=25). You can put a limit on your donation-just indicate below.

All money and forms are due NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2014. Prizes will be awarded to the class with the most minutes read, as well as grade level for individuals with the most minutes read and a grand prize for the student with the most minutes read in the entire school. Winners will be announced at our Movie Night on September 26, 2014.

Welcome back!

Welcome back, Clarkdale families and staff! We’re off to a great start for the 2014-2015 school year! I hope you all enjoyed your summer and are refreshed and ready to be champions for our students.

I’m very excited about this year for the PTA. There will be lots of changes this year and lots of new faces on the board. We’ll be bringing back some of your favorite events from last year, like Movie Night, and adding new ones, such as International Night and a community outreach service project this spring. Our first event will be on September 9^th with a general PTA meeting followed by Open House, so be sure to join us then!

Our first big fundraiser will be this fall with our very popular (and yummy!) Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough sale. Our goal is to raise enough money over this school year to send each grade on a field trip of their choice next year, including an overnight trip for our fifth graders. We can't accomplish this without YOU! Look for more information this fall!
